Delivered for an overseas-based client, this expansive rural residence delivers effortless living.

At the heart of this architect designed custom home, a striking open-plan living and entertaining galleria defines the experience of the space. Framed by floor-to-ceiling glazing, polished concrete floors and a commanding bluestone fireplace, the central zone captures both light and landscape in equal measure.

Soaring 4.3-metre ceilings and exposed steel portal frames enhance the sense of scale, creating a dramatic yet inviting environment.

Functionality is central to the design, particularly within the entertainer’s kitchen. Featuring a large walk-in butler’s pantry and seamless integration with the main living areas, the space is equally suited to intimate dinners or large-scale gatherings, allowing hosts to remain connected to guests at all times.

Given the client’s location overseas, collaboration and communication were critical throughout the build. Working closely with a client-appointed family member acting as project manager and interior designer, Hedger Constructions ensured every detail aligned with the owner’s vision. Ongoing design refinement during construction allowed for a highly tailored outcome, with bespoke joinery and finishes responding to specific requirements.

The result is a sophisticated rural residence that seamlessly combines scale, functionality and refined detailing—delivering a home that is both architecturally impressive and exceptionally liveable.
