Senior Carpenter / Leading Hand:  Full Time Role

Location: The Shire of Murrindindi and Yarra Valley

We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Carpenter / Leading Hand to join our growing team. Working on sites throughout the Shire of Murrindindi and Yarra Valley, you will have eye for detail and exceptional carpentry skills.

Ideally, we are looking for established, skilled carpenters. You may have been self employed and/or worked with other builders and are looking for the right company to deal with the management and paperwork whilst you do the building.

In this role a minimum of 4 years experience is preferred, working on wide variety of complex architectural designs without close supervision.

Salary negotiable for experience level and Relocation Packages available for discussion.

Accounts Payable:  Part Time Role

Location: Alexandra Victoria

We are currently seeking a motivated and organised person to join our finance team and be responsible for the efficient, timely and accurate processing of accounts payable.

The skills required for undertaking the role of our Accounts Payable will be as follows:

  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving
  • Comfortable in a small team
  • Able to make decisions independently
  • A good customer service orientation with internal and external clients – a good communicator

The role is 4 days per week but a full time role may be considered for the right candidate.

A minimum of 2 years experience in accounts payable and salary negotiable for experience level.

Contracts Administrator:  Full Time Role

Location: Alexandra or Melbourne Victoria

The Contracts Administrator is responsible for the effective administration of contracts, variations, subcontracts, supply orders and monitoring of budget vs actual costings on their portfolio. This position is flexibly based in our Alexandra or Melbourne office with the successful applicant required to travel a minimum one day per week to sites.

Responsibilities:

The position is responsible for the administration of allocated contracts including:

  • Issuing of Purchase Orders
  • Processing progress claims and external variations in a timely manner to be invoiced.
  • Ensuring formal approval has been gained for all variations prior to commencement of works.
  • Review, negotiate and finalise subcontracts.
  • Manage and track project expenditure including subcontractor claims.
  • Administer RFIs and EOTs to clients, architects, and consultants.
  • Preparing and maintaining Variations Registers on all assigned contracts.
  • Liaise with Project supervisors to provide:
    • Accurate job cost center coding for subcontracts and supplier payments.
    • Approve progress claims/ material for payment.
    • Accurate assessment of Estimated costs to complete & other forecasts as required.
  • Delegate tasks, as appropriate to Junior Contracts Administrator staff and provide mentorship.
  • Preparation and distribution of Project Costs Reports
  • Working closely with SLT and Finance around WIP and Profitability for each job with your portfolio
  • Additional tasks from time to time as required by SLT.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Contract Administration, Construction Management or similar.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in domestic or commercial construction projects with a value over $5 M per project
  • Ability to build strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Be a team player with high attention to detail and premium problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in managing and training junior staff members would be advantageous.
  • High level of computer literacy including all Microsoft Office and project management systems.
  • Financial knowledge to manage job budgets and monitor costs effectively.

Carpenters and Apprentices Required: Full Time Roles

Location: North East Regional Victoria, Melbourne and the Surf Coast Region

Hedger Constructions are Victoria’s multi-award-winning custom home builders, with an expanding client base covering North East Regional Victoria, Melbourne and the Surf Coast Region. We are currently seeking motivated workers across these locations for Carpentry and Apprentice Positions.

Successful applicants need to be passionate about the building industry; have the ability to communicate well in a team; work from instructions as directed; follow OHS directives; coordinate work in a team environment or work individually under supervision; and demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop their skills.

Apprentice applicants must have completed minimum year 10 secondary schooling.
Hours are Monday to Friday 7am – 3.30pm and Saturdays as required.
